The Reunion was held on the weekend of November 03rd 2007 information below
The Toast at the Forties Reunion from Syd (aka Bill) Brown
A toast to WGS is a very special toast – not least because there is no longer an institution with that name.
But in a very real sense the school lives on. It lives on in the lives of those who studied and taught there. That we gather today in its name is testimony of its value and importance to us.
And thanks to David and Graham Tall there is now an excellent book to preserve our memories of it.
In one sense the influence of the school is more widespread now than when it was a living institution. Then it was restricted to a few buildings in Doddington Road. But now it is examined, enjoyed and relished all over the world as people log onto Graham’s excellent and abundant website.
And so, ladies and gentlemen:
For the lessons we learned,
For the friendships we made,
For the teachers who taught us,
For the school we loved
For old times,
For good times,
For those present,
And those absent,
We drink a health to,
Wellingborough Grammar School.
